Who knows why drugs and alcohol take over some people's lives. Maybe it's genetics. Or circumstances. Or just plain bad luck. The reasons are varied, but all share a common need - a need that is met through the START program.

START stands for St. Anthony Recovery and Treatment. If you or a family member is suffering from an addiction, our program can be the beginning of a new life. Our START staff understands the pain and devastation of drug and alcohol addiction, and knows how to break through the fears and defenses. We help our patients identify the underlying causes of their problems, and summon the courage to face them, without the crutch of drugs or alcohol.

START begins with a medically-supervised detoxification period, if necessary. Patients then step down to an intensive inpatient or residential level of care which addresses emotional, spiritual and physical needs. We now offer 21 or 28 day residential treatment options, as well as day treatment and day or evening intensive outpatient treatment. We understand that family members can play in important role in recovery, so we often include them in the treatment process during family or group therapy.
