At the St. Anthony Diagnostic Institute, we've invested in the tools needed to find cancer in its earliest and most treatable stages.
Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computerized Tomography (CT) are both standard imaging tools needed to pinpoint the location of cancer. Traditionally, a PET scan and CT scan are two different appointments. But at St. Anthony, we offer a state-of-the-art PET/CT scan in one. That means you spend less time at the hospital and have a chance of getting an earlier diagnosis and more accurate staging and localization of your cancer.
Our PET/CT scan is one continuous full-body scan that detects miniscule changes in your body’s metabolism caused by the growth of abnormal cells via the PET scan, while the CT scan captures images that pinpoint the exact location, size and shape of your tumor.
This integrated approach allows us to catch a variety of cancers in their earliest stages like breast, esophageal, cervical, melanoma, lymphoma, lung, colorectal, head and neck, and ovarian. With the high-tech images our PET/CT provides, you are given a better chance at finding your cancer early so you and your physician can develop a plan to help you beat it for good.
