A Force for Good in Our Community

St. Anthony Hospital in downtown Oklahoma City has served the needs of Oklahomans for more than100 years, offering a wide range of services in state-of-the-art facilities with physicians and staff who are dedicated to providing exceptional health care consistent with our mission. A recent report by the United Health Foundation found Oklahoma to be one of the unhealthiest states in our nation, ranked 48^th based on measures of health outcomes, disease rates and access to care.This report summarizes St. Anthony’s plan to improve our community’s health status by addressing high-priority needs in mental health, substance abuse, heart disease, and obesity.

Substance Abuse

How are we helping?

~ Focused continuing education and training on suicide, suicide prevention and substance abuse

~ Screening all patients who visit our Emergency Room for mental health issues

~ Staff provides “Crisis Intervention Team” training to police officers

~ Support school partnerships for student risk assessments

~ Increased awareness through media stories on mental health and substance abuse topics
